Shaheen Renewable Energy

SRE I, a 50 MW Wind Power project has been initiated under Govt of Pakistan's Renewable Energy Policy. The project will be located at Bholari in Distt Thatha (Jhimpir Wind Corridor). The project as per, RE policy, will be financed on a Debt: Equity with SF holding 100% Equity share while Debt Component will be arranged through ECA facility / DFIs. The project has been issued Letter of Intent and Grid Interconnection Study in place while other prerequisites for Financial Close are in process, waiting for announcement of Tariff by NEPRA. SRE I is endeavoring hard to qualify for next Tariff as and when it is finally notified by the Govt so that project is up and running by the year 2018-19.

The project as per RE policy envisages a healthy IRR of 16-17%, which NEPRA will decide and notify in upcoming Tariff. This is the first WPP project that SF has initiated in RE sector of Pakistan which offers exciting opportunities for the prospective investor. As the policy under which these projects are being set up is very robust and mature, we hope that success of SRE will herald a new era of corporate experience for SF in the context of power sector of Pakistan and it will further consolidate its gains by investing in more such projects in future.
