The following scholarship schemes are being
offered by Shaheen Foundation to the wards of PAF personnel (serving /
Retired):-
(a) Shaheen Scholarship Scheme.
In order to encourage and extend financial support to talented students, Shaheen
Foundation provides scholarship and excellence / merit certificates to the
students of Class V to X who secured meritorious positions/good results in their
previous years final examination from PAF F G Fazaia and Govt schools located
within PAF Bases or administratively controlled by the PAF. With effect from
the annual exam of year 2011 the scholarship rate for PAF schools has been
revised increased. The three students of each class should be awarded
scholarship Rs 5000/- for 1st position, Rs 4000/- for 2nd, Rs 3000/- for 3rd
position alongwith Excellence certificates. Similarly these amounts for FG
Fazaia / Govt schools can be Rs 3000/-, Rs 2000/- and Rs 1000/- for
1st, 2nd
and 3rd Position students alongwith merit certificates. The remaining students
of any category, including wards of officers can be awarded Rs 1000/- for PAF
schools and Rs 500/- for FG Fazaia / Govt Schools Per Annum.

(b)
Shaheen Fellowship Scheme. This scheme is for higher education
in any disciplines at Bachelor level & Master level studies. The scheme is
started in year 1997. There are 150 fellowships every year on merit to Bachelor
level students and 50 to Master level students. Shaheen Foundation reimburses
admission, tuition & exam fee only @ Rs 20,000/- per annum or actual fee bills
paid for admission, tuition & exam fee which ever is less.
(Rs 50,000/- for the student of NUST, IBA, Agha
Khan University, GIK, LUMS, NU of Computer and Emerging Sciences (FAST) and
Riphah International, Comsats, Air University, Bahria University & Islamic
International University only).
(i)
Bachelors Level. Applicants must have secured minimum 70% marks or above marks
in HSSC and obtained admission for Bachelor level studies in any of the HEC
approved institution / university. The weightage for SSC and HSSC marks will be
40% & 60% respectively for the purpose of calculating merit.
(ii) Masters Level. Applicants must
have secured minimum 65% marks in Bachelor degree and obtained admission for
Master level studies in any of the HEC recognized Institution / University. The
weightage for SSC, HSSC and Bachelor degree marks will be 30%, 30% & 40%
respectively for the purpose of calculating merit.

Shaheen Fellowship Scheme
(c)
Begum Bilquis Scholarship Scheme (BBSS). This scheme is aimed at enabling
bright but underprivileged children of PAF personnel to get education in
professional colleges. As such, three categories of "underprivileged" children
of PAF personnel (with limited or inadequate resources) have been identified as
follows:-
Category I.
Wards of PAF Officers, Airmen and Civilians whose father/ mother has died
(mother only in case she was serving in PAF).
Category II. Wards of Serving or Retired Officer, Airmen and
Civilians whose parents have a debilitating sickness resulting in physical in
capacitance due to limb loss or otherwise, which prevents them from active
work.
Category III. Wards of Serving or Retired Officers, Airmen
and Civilians who have special / terminally sick sister / brother or have
terminally sick parents, who pose extra financial burden on the family.
Selection Criteria for BBSS
(i) Bachelors.
Applicants must have obtained 60% or above marks in FA / FSc and obtained
admission at Bachelor level studies in any of the HEC recognized institution /
university in Pakistan. The first 15 students falling on the merit will be
selected.
(ii) Masters. Bachelor degree holders from a recognized university with
55% or above marks in BA / BSc and obtained admission for Master level studies
in any of HEC recognized institution / university. The first 5 students falling
on the merit will be selected.

Application Procedure for both Schemes
Shaheen Foundation invites applications every year in the month of January
through advertisement in leading newspapers "Daily Jang" & "The NEWS" from the
students who have obtained admission in HEC approved colleges / universities.

Shaheen Excellence Award Scheme. Shaheen Excellence Award
of Rs 50,000/- (one time) will be awarded to Sons / Daughters of Ex/Serving PAF
Personnel securing first position in final examination from any HSSC Board and
HEC recognized Board / Universities in Pakistan in all recognized disciplines.
