Scholarship Schemes for Wards of PAF Personnel

1.         The following scholarship schemes are being offered by Shaheen Foundation to the wards of PAF personnel (serving/retired):-

 

(a).      Shaheen Scholarship.  Shaheen Foundation is providing scholarship alongwith excellence / merit certificates to the students of class V to X of Fazaia and Govt schools located within PAF Bases, who have secured top positions in their previous year’s final examination.  The rate of scholarship is Rs 1500/- per annum per child to Fazaia Schools / Colleges and Rs 900/- per annum per child for Govt Schools.  Merit lists are provided by the respective colleges after annual (final) examination results.  Three beneficiaries from each section of every class from V to X based on overall merit of each class are awarded scholarship alongwith merit certificates through their respective principals.

 

(b).      Shaheen Fellowship Scheme.   Shaheen Fellowship awards are offered to the wards of serving/retired PAF personnel who get 60% & above marks in HSSC and 55% & above marks in Bachelor degree exams and obtain admission in HEC approved colleges/universities at Bachelor/Master level courses.  The applications are invited every year in the month of January through leading newspapers “Daily Jang” & “The News” from the students getting admission for Bachelor / Master level studies in HEC approved colleges/universities during the period from 1st January to 31 December of preceding year.

(c).       Begum Bilquis Scholarship Scheme (BBSS).
Shaheen Foundation has launched special scholarship scheme named “Begum Bilquis Scholarship Scheme (BBSS)”  wef 1st September, 2004 which caters for all academic expenditures for Bachelor/Master level courses  for the children of under-mentioned PAF personnel:-

• Deceased PAF personnel (Airmen, Civilians & Officers).

(ii)        Such handicapped retired PAF personnel who have a debilitating sickness resulting in physical in capacitance due to limb loss or otherwise which prevents them from active work.

(iii)       Retired PAF personnel who have a special child or terminally sick family member, whose education or care means extra financial burden.

 (iv).           The applicant becomes eligible for BBSS when he/she gets admission in professional college after passing FSc exam.  Shaheen Fellowship Form of such categories of students who have got admission in any of professional colleges must be accompanied with BBSS information form which are available at

BBSS Information Form

 (d).     Shaheen Excellence Award.  Shaheen Foundation provides this award in the form of lump sum amount of Rs 50,000/- to the wards of serving/retired PAF personnel securing overall first position in HSSC examination from any Board of Intermediate & Secondary Education and BA/BSc, MA/MSc,   M Phil & Ph D from any public university of Pakistan.
