REHABILITATION:  RETIRED PAF PERSONNEL
SHAHEEN FOUNDATION PAF

Introduction

1.         Shaheen Foundation, PAF was established in 1977. Shaheen Foundation Overseas Employment Agency (SFOEA) is one of the subsidiaries of Shaheen Foundation, PAF which started functioning in 1979 at Shaheen Complex Karachi. In 1989 the subsidiary was shifted to Islamabad with an objective to provide jobs to the retired PAF personnel within Pakistan as well as abroad.  This was indeed a very challenging task, which was undertaken very meticulously by the agency.

(a)       Employment in Country.  Shaheen Foundation is maintaining trade-wise data bank of all Ex-PAF airmen with a currency check of six years for the purpose of rehabilitation.  Shaheen Foundation endeavors to rehabilitate Ex-PAF airmen by providing them suitable employment within country in coordination with Government as well as private sector.

(b)       Employment abroad.  Shaheen Foundation is also facilitating Ex-PAF personnel in seeking them overseas employment in various friendly countries.  Shaheen Foundation Overseas Employment Agency (SFOEA) is playing vital role in this regard.  SFOEA receives demands for skilled Ex-PAF personnel from its friendly countries and then processes all formalities starting from shortlisting of required manpower based on criteria given by the employer

Procedure

2.         Shaheen Foundation carries out employment of retired PAF personnel in its subsidiaries/ventures and abroad for which a specified procedure is adopted.  Salient features are as follows: -

(a) Shaheen Foundation maintains trade wise data bank of retired airmen who get themselves registered while proceeding on retirement through Airmen Management Office (earlier PAF Record Office) and their registration is valid for the period of (6) six years or up to the age of 50 years which ever is earlier from date of SOD. 

(b) Each individual is required to confirm his availability for employment by 31st March of each year on a prescribed form (Confirmation of availability).  The same form is also forwarded to the individuals at the time of registration alongwith registration letter, however photocopy of the said form can also be used for the same purpose. Individuals failing to confirm their availability are not considered for employment for the current year.

(c) On receipt of the demand from subsidiaries/ventures, the potential candidates who meet the laid down criteria of the employer are short listed on merit, keeping in mind the choice of work location opted by the individual.

(d) Individuals who refuse/do not respond twice to job offer in the city of their first choice are removed from the list.  Individuals, who have already availed job opportunity through Shaheen Foundation in-country/abroad, may be considered again, but their names will be placed at the bottom of the current list in their trades
